LAUREATES OF THE GRÉEA GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS – WINTER 2025
The GRÉEA is pleased to announce the winners of its graduate student scholarships competition for the fall term 2022. In alphabetical order of family name:
- Florence Amégan is a masters student under the supervision of Marie-Hélène Parizeau and Juliette Roussin. Her undergratuate degree focused on liberal artss, bioethics and philosophy. Her current research focuses on self sufficient leaning lifestyles like permaculture through a lense of environmental ethics and political philosophy of the environment.
- Roxanne Lépine is a doctorate student under the supervision of Jonathan Simon. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history and anthropology, and has also completed a certificate in public administration at the École nationale d’administration publique. Roxanne is now interested in the possibility of plant conciousness and the consequences it could have on our moral system. Her area of expertise therefore touches on the philosophy of mind, as well as animal and environmental ethics, and more specifically the ethical issues raised by our questions about conciousness.
- Malou Sopcak is an MA student at Concordia University. Prior to beggining her MA studies, she completed a BSc in biological sciences with a minor in Philosophy at the University of Alberta. Her research interests lie at the intersection of ethical and epistemic dimensions of science. Currently, she is examining the suspension of judgement in climate science.
