Conference on animal ethics, University of Colorado, Boulder

Call for abstracts!

The Society for the Study of Ethics and Animals (SSEA) invites abstracts for a day-long workshop on August 8, 2018 at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Abstracts on any topic relating to animal ethics are welcome. This preconference event is being held in conjunction with the Eleventh Annual Rocky Mountain Ethics Congress, which takes place at CU Boulder from August 9-12. The SSEA is pleased to announce that Julia Driver will offer the keynote address at the workshop, thanks to generous support from CU Philosophy Department’s Center for Values and Social Policy. Abstracts that engage with Driver’s work are especially welcome.

Abstracts are due on March 15. Notification of acceptance by May 15. Abstracts should be 750-1000 words and prepared for blind review. Please submit abstracts to Bob Fischer (fischer@txstate.edu). The workshop will have a pre-read format, with the aim of providing focused, constructive feedback on works in progress. If your abstract is accepted, the full paper will be due on July 1 for distribution to other attendees.
